OUR

Response + Rescue
Regular volunteers are trained in response and rescue preparation, procedures, and methods, and can gain experience to participate at all levels.

Education Programs
Volunteers are in integral part of our education programs for local youth. They also assist with organizing and hosting demonstrations, activities, and presentations to help make our adult education programs a success.

Patient Care
MMWRC volunteers have an active, role in the daily husbandry and medical treatment of sea lions, seals, and sea turtles admitted to MMWRC for rehabilitative care.

Workshops + Events
Volunteers learn valuable rescue and rehabilitation skills while assisting at the workshops we host for veterinary students, military, government, and responder groups. They represent our organization at public events and help us share our mission with communities throughout Mexico.

Wildlife
Monitoring
MMWRC regularly monitors our local marine mammal colonies and populations. Volunteers may join our research team and participate in these efforts. Learn new scientific skills and adopt these methods to conduct regular censuses and assess population health.

Community Outreach
Work with our local communities and have the opportunity to travel with us to fishing camps and villages to work with the pescaderos and their families. We are always working towards ways we can build up our communities and involve them in marine wildlife protection and conservation.

Intern Programs
MMWRC offers unpaid internships for Mexican and foreign students and professionals who want to gain practical experience and assist our organization in daily operations, projects, or specialized research. Highschool student internships also offered.

Equipment Maintenance
Our facility and equipment require constant upkeep and maintenance and this something that all volunteers assist with. We work with very limited resources and do our best to take care of what we have.

Science +
Research
Volunteers, interns, and collaborators have the chance to contribute to ongoing research or create new projects using the qualitative and quantitative data we collect. We encourage student volunteers to come up with a way they can fulfill their educational requirements by creating a study that will benefit MMWRC's outcomes or contribute to marine conservation. There are endless possibilities!

As an orgnaziation MMWRC is accepting of everyone, regardless of gender identity, sex, age, racial or ethnic origin, background, socioeconomic status, class, religion, beliefs, or education and we do not discriminate.
